  1. After having bought a decent road bike, last year, equipped with Shimano 105 and having had nothing
but rare but unusual clicking noise coming from the back wheel, the shop after trying to fix many
parts, without really replacing anything for a whole year; finally replaced the freewheel.

The problem I was having was like a loud stripping kind of sound after I resume pedalling. Like I
said, they finally changed the freewheel and before they changed the freewheel, It was getting to
the point where the stripping was harder to the point of almost falling right off the bike.

Like I said they did replace the freewheel and I still have a concern. Does a 105 Shimano freewheel
should have any kind of ticking noise when you stop pedalling? It seems to me that I am the only one
that has a bike that is quiet and that does not reassure me.

Thank you for your input with this dilemma.

    Regards

    Bernard

that sounds like the freewheel ratchet slipping.

if the freehub body was replaced, you should have no further problems. the noise of the ratchet is
not necessarily an issue. some brands are substantially noisier than others. my campy is /way/
noisier than my shimano. what's important is that the ratchet does not slip.
