i've got 1 Flash and maybe 6 of the bigger/heavier
Freestyle meters

my own experience is the old/big Freestyle meter gives
identical results to the newer Flash meter

fwiw, i only look for consistency coz i've no problems with
marking a meter as + or -10% (or whatever)

the key thing i like about the Freestyle (old and
Flash) is that i can do one or two tests per day using
my upper leg thighs, where the puncture yields very
small amounts of blood

I just did a comparison a couple of months ago between my
old profile, the ultra and a freestyle flash. I did blood
testing on all three using blood from the same sample. I
tested about 25 times. It is my understanding that the
profile reads whole blood and the other two read plasma.
Using the converted profile numbers as a control I compared
it to the other two meters. It was pretty obvious that the
flash was much closer to the converted profile numbers. The
ultra numbers were much lower and in some cases were
actually lower than the profiles whole number.

I also just happened to get back from the doc today. The lab
returned a 97 and my flash returned a 99 when I tested in
the car after the office visit. So, it is my experience that
the flash is pretty accurate. --=20 E-mail:
