Free Health Care in U.S.

Haven't heard of a charity hospital in years. None that I
know of in Philadelphia at least.

You may be referring to ER visits. Supposedly, no one should
be turned away.

Some hospitals, such as DuPont hospital for children in
Delaware, will use a sliding scale for payment. The
individual hospital must be contacted for information.

There is a law that hospitals must give free care to
indigent on a basis of a percentage of the amount the
government grants to the hospital. Get information from
hospital first to insure that funds are available.

IIRC the Hill-Burton Act requires hospitals taking federal
money to treat ppl in the area, at least for some
conditions. BUT I know very little and what I recall might
not be o correct.
