I am going to purchase a road bike in the 1000 dollar bracket and after test riding a few, the Specialized Allez Elite stood out the most. However there is only one thing that keeps me from purchasing it, the frame style. It has the compact frame with a sloping top tube. I would like to know if there is any change in riding posistion over a traditional frame design, Such as the Cannondale R800 and the Trek 1500.

Everything else being equal,and it may or may not be,a sloping toptube itself does not cause a change in position.
