I currently use a rear wheel with 135 mm spacing. Can I mount a wheel built with a 130 mm hub? (9 speed cassette) If it is possible, is there anything else I need to know about doing this?

Alloy frame, NO! They are heat treated after welding.
Sounds like you want to use a road wheel in a MTB, buy a 700c MTB wheel. 😉 Mavic and Shimano are two which are readily avaliable.
Thanks George. I remeasured my current hubs and they are actually only 130mm, but I'm glad I asked and got an answer.
