  1. 2007 LCAG FREE OPEN EVENING - 'BIKE FREAKS' - Wed, 26 Sept 07

    This is now confirmed for Wed, 26 Sept 2007 (7.30-9.15pm) at Oxford Place
    Methodist Centre, Oxford Place, Leeds 1.

    Guest Speaker: DAN JOYCE, Editor of the CTC's 'Cycle' magazine and cycle
    journalist around the subject of 'BIKE FREAKS - Normalising Cycling' as it's
    still seen as slightly 'abnormal'. He says this can cover many issues such
    as how people perceive cycling; barriers to entry; life without a car;
    tribalism among cyclists ('only my form of cycling is the right and proper
    form of cycling!'😉 as a response to being a minority culture; helmets
    (they're not normal everyday attire); why we need more Dutch roadsters etc
    etc. As well as Dan's talk there will be time for questions from the floor
    which will no doubt lead to interesting discussion. Entry is free and all
    attendees will receive the ever-popular free raffle ticket with a chance to
    win a prize from a selection of cycling-related goodies. There will be
    information stalls from LCAG and other cycling-related organisations.
