I was wondering how well (if at all) a fork stand would work with a regular trainer as opposed to rollers. In preparation for this winters hard training, I was thinking that maybe I would be better off installing some kind of fork mount/stand for a more stable workout when out of saddle and sprinting. With the front wheel sitting just on the riser ring, when I stand up and try to sprint or even just keep pace, I feel like I'll brake something.
No, that would go in the opposite direction that I want. For that ring you need the Rock and Roll as it has the side to side motion. My trainer doesn't swing, so I'm looking for a fork-mounted stability.

Yup, the Rock n' Roll riser would go the wrong direction if you're looking to nail down the front end.
The way I read your initial question though was that you were concerned about torsional forces on the wheel/fork/steerer/etc. due to lateral movement when standing up off the saddle on your fixed position trainer w/ a fixed position front wheel riser. Seems like pegging the bike down up front might do more harm than good in this respect, but I'm no mechanical engineer either.
