  1. looking for some advide on fork removal. Fork in question is a 1999 judy xc.

All instructions say the same thing: "loosen shaft bolt a few turns, and tap with a mallet. shafts will magically come free from lower tubes."

The problem is, that I tapped. Then I tapped more firmly. Now I have worked up to pounding, all with no success, and i have yet to see a single drop of oil come from the bottom of the shaft.

Any thoughts other than "tapping" to free the lower shafts? Thanks in advance.

  2. It's been years since I've overhauled a Judy...but if memory serves you have to 1st remove the top cap which with let you compress the fork all the way...then back the screw out, and tap with a mallot....It should just pop free
