Find another bike shop, not populated by morons. 11/8" could be traditional, integrated or integral HS. A fork make for integrated HS can be used with a non inetgrated HS but will look a bit strange.

Thanks for that, I've found out my bike has 1/8" steerer with integrated headset.
Does that mean the 1 1/8 integral will be okay? Sorry to be so dopey on all this!
