    I just received a new Forerunner 301 and cannot get it to pick up my heart
    rate. I've used other HRM products in the past (timex speed + distance,
    generic polar HRM) without any problems.

    Has anyone else had trouble with the HRM portion of the 301? Any
    workarounds?

    Not really, you see before his brain and arterys collapsed, he was
