Quoted message said:When you carb up, do you do it on a regular basis, say once
every two weeks or once a month? Also, do you eat maybe
around 200 gm of carbs and as low fat as possible? A while
back, someone (JC?) posted a meal of tuna fish on bread with
low fat mayo and pretzels, so I'm assuming that's what it
would consist of instead of things like chips, cake, etc.

The carb up depends on whether the goal is cutting or bulking. I'll

Yes, I keep the fat as low as possible. Tuna on white is good. I also
like

The

not-so-complex carbs.
When I'm cutting, I actually drop my calories pretty low when I carb up.
Be aware that many types of cake and chips have fat.
Thanks. Do you still fast most of the day and have only one
meal when you carb up?
I carb up once weekly, the last two meals before bed. Usually taking in
200-300g of carbs, in a 80%C/10%F/10%P ratio. Because one can sort of
assume that the protein in the carb source is likely coming with all the
enzymes and nutrients needed to digest it, we can also assume that it
probably won't interfere with the carbohydrate absorption like external
proteins can. So, I ignore the protein in the carb source itself, treating
it somewhat like 'net protein'. :P
I usually have my first meal as a clean carbup meal, using whole grain
cereal and low-carb milk, sweet potatoes, rice dishes, oatmeal, etc. For my
second meal, I have...well, I have dessert. Fat free frozen yogurt/pudding,
fat free fig newtons, lowfat honey grahams and fat free real milk, fat-free
muffins, etc.
With the very first bite of each meal, I slam a shot comprised of 1 oz. of
lemon juice and 1 oz of apple cider vinegar (which works much like r-ALA or
ALA does in terms of blood sugars and insulin). Down the hatch! :P
