I started out of the tent after a 50 miler and a long snooze post dinner and caught posterior leg cramps.
Trying a calf stretch I discovered a foot stretch and pass it along as I haven't read of one.
Push legs/heels down on mat Bring heels toward butt stretch toes upward then toward butt then push heel forward away from butt with toes still stretched upward stretch toes up and foot edges side to side then try moving foot at the ankle-this stretches the distal foot surface. Ahhh no leg cramps

A towel partly soaked with hot tap water work wonders in stopping the cramp. But of course, watch the temperature or you can burn your skin. --

I used to get terrible cramps in my calves, especially while sleeping after a hard workout.
I found that moderate amounts of both calcium supplements and vitamin E help in preventing cramps. There's some medical evidence to support this.
