  1. Hi Folks!! I've transforming from a leisure rider to conditioning for a 150 mile charity ride for MS this coming August. I live in Ohio (it's February) and I've got my Bianchi hybrid on a trainer in my house.

I'm riding from 45 min to 1:20 5-6 days per week. I was treated for plantar fasceotis last year--been pain free---but now I've got a burn in the arch of my left foot.

I was just measured and outfitted with cycling shoes and clip in pedals (which is an improvement from flat pedals and sneakers).

I'd hate to have a set back as I've lost 3-4 inches off my waist as I've kicked up my indoor training since Jan 1.......

Thoughts?? Do I need my shoes adjusted?

  2. burn?

    chafing, or burning sensation?

I'd first try making adjustments in how I was riding & where I wa sputting the pressure on teh shoe... but while I've occasionally had my arches talk hotly to me, I'm a sneaker sole myself and I suspect it's a lot easier to change positions & which muscles are doing what.

SO what if it's February :-) As long as there are degrees, I'll ride...
