Still have fond memories of the food on our trek through the
Alpes Maritimes last year. Back pack food - Leave that for
the wilds of North America.

Fresh food and wine carried onto the hill, and most days
somewhere nice to eat out along the way or in the
evening. The Refuge de Longon Hut on Mont Morurier is the
one to beat.

You have to remember Americans think McD is normal food, so
freeze-dried backpacking food probably seems like high
cuisine to them.

Well it was rather nice to turn up at a French Hut after a
long days's trek and fall into the middle of some civilized
eating :-)
