  1. Hi there,

I recall IKEA gave their employees Raleigh folding bikes, but they were
sourced from Poland, instead of the usual Dahon.

Does anybody own one of these, or has anybody used one? If so, what's the
gearing like? Is it suitable for more than just the city-centre?

There's always a few on ebay, and some with decent bike-bags. At about £60
all inclusive of postage, I was tempted to buy one, for those times when
more than 1 bike has to go in the car to go head up North.

    Thanks for any responses.

I've got one, the gearing's low & so is the saddle. Personally I'd not
chose to do more than 2-3 miles on it.

32" from the top of the saddle to the top of the bottom pedal
    6" chainwheel (across the spikes)
    4" to 2.5" rear sprockets (6 gears)
    20" wheels

I'm 5ft6, coincidentally a neighbour in our flats trooped out out today. Had
a quick shot, seems pretty good for a free present. The saddle suited me
quite fine but I've a smaller frame than you most likely. The gears were
low, but for going nowhere in a rush I suppose they're okay.

Since it's not a standard Raleigh folding bike, do you know what the
official non-IKEA name for it is? Employees on ebay just call it a 'IKEA
    folding bike'.

Don't think I'll purchase one, only good on flat ground so it would seem.

    Cheers.
