I finally had a chance to check out Robin Miller's show on Food TV ...
those eyes! Imagine being her husband or child and having her wake you
up for some reason; I swear I'd jump out the window. There must be
something wrong with them or her contacts.
As to her kitchen work - she did all the chopping and other prep work
to make 3 different chicken dishes. First, she used the cutting board
for all the veggies, and put them into three separate plastic bags for
the intended meal. Then, using the same board, she cut up the chicken
and put them in three different plastic bags. No problem. Then she
picked up the chicken bags and stuffed the veggie bags in on top,
sealing the outside bag (she now has a "meal in a bag"😉. While she was
doing this, she was plopping the bottom of the chicken bag down on the
cutting board, which had not yet been washed. So, she's got raw
chicken bacteria (harmful or not) on the outside of each of the three
plastic bags. She puts them in the refrigerator, on the shelf
(shelves). Chicken bacteria now has spread to the refrigerator.
She goes ahead, then, and cleans up the cutting board and makes a
comment about how important it is to wash your hands and utensils.
The next day, supposedly, she takes the three bags out of the
refrigerator, and puts them on the counter. Chicken bacteria is now on
the counter top. She opens one, for the soup, I think, and holding on
to the bottom of the outside bag with her hand, dumps it into a pan on
the stove, exclaiming that no, she doesn't have to touch the chicken,
she did that before and now her hands don't have to get contaminated.
Well, Robin, yes they are - you are holding the part of the bag that
previously sat on the raw-chicken cutting board.
I was horrified at the casual-ness of it all. I bet if a technician
went around and swabbed her work surfaces and refrigerator, they would
be horrified.
It doesn't really matter to me - I can't watch her crazy eyes, anyway.
But, someone should teach her some safe habits.
