I measured weight before and after ride, along with actual consumption (60 mile, 100 KM, 3.5 hours) and, all-in, found I had depleatead 6 bottles of fluid 9 (Poweraide brand). In truth I only drank 4 (20 oz 700cc) bottles (rest was weight loss), but my concern is this: Is this rate (1 bottle every 30 minutes) normal? Where the hell do I get two new bottles every hour after the first hour? My domestiques are on strike!!!

this is more or less an individual thing. and as if it gets better, it is a trial and error thing. and it depends on the conditions you are riding in. i rode today for 2 hours (LT intervals) and drank 64 oz and came home 1.5 pounds lighter!! it was low 90s and sunny with little wind. i would recommend drinking enough such that you are not more than a pound lighter when you get back. obviously, this will take time to figure out and since the conditions change all time, better to drink more than less. lastly, if you start getting weak despite eating gels and bars and you start getting a headache, then it is time to drink A LOT! cause you are too dehydrated
