If it weren't so tragic for Canadian cattle farmers and the west coast
lumber industry, that would be hilarious.

Most americans are completely clueless about the softwood lumber
situation. They are paying about twice as much for lumber because
their govt has placed onerous import duties on canadian softwood.
Their houses cost them twice as much to build or renovate because of
this. While the canadian lumber industry teeters and lays-off
thousands of workers. All because the americans have an economically
inefficient way of doing business in their lumber sector. Rather than
become efficient and compete, ie. free enterprise system, they get
their govt to effectively shut down the softwood imports from other
countries. What ever happened to the concept of free enterprise and
free trade. I guess that only applies to when they have the economic
advantage.

And they wonder why other countries don't jump up and applaud every
time they spout garbage like "Eider yor wit us or ya agin us".
Frikkin' morons.
