I just bought a new Flight Deck, model 6501, having had the previous model 6500. Both have a power
saver function which makes the screen dark except for clock display when no signal is received for
30 minutes. The old version, 6500, would return to full screen upon receipt of any signal, so it
would start up whenever the front wheel rolled or whenever either of the shift lever buttons was
pressed. On the new one, 6501, I have to press the A or B button on the back of the display
module. The manual seems to indicate this is normal function, but I was surprised Shimano would
give up the auto-start function that the predecessor model and all my other brand bike computers
seem to have. Does everyone have to press button A or button B to start the Flight Deck, or do I
have a faulty unit?
