I have seen this on my sti shifters and in specifications on some other bikes does it mean anything what does it allow you to do with them?😕

Flight Deck is a shimano specific cycling computer. -
if it's FD compatable, then you can use the computer...
it's a neat little geeky gadget, mostly like othe cycle-comps, but it shows what gear you are in and calculates your cadence. I've been pretty satitisfied with mine over the past 5 years...
