I just got an OCR 3 and got a flat tire the other day going down hill. Here is the deal, we put 5 patches on it and had 4 extra more. I know that I have to replace the inner tube. So:
*What kind of tube can I use if I was using a 700x23/25c? Can I use the 700 x 32c/38c? What is the deal with the tubes?
*Is there anything I can do to protect the tires and inner tube?
Please help me, I am just starting and have a lot of questions.
Go down to your local bike shop (LBS) and tell them what size tyre you have, they will sell you the correct size tube.
Better tyres can reduce the number of punctures. Kevlar tyres are generally quite good. Theres a lot of tyre options at a lot of different prices. Do a seach on tyres and learn what you can and then go and discuss them at your LBS. A good LBS should be able to understand your specific needs and recommend tyres within your budget.
Patches are a no-no at those pressures, 100psi+, ok just to get home on.
Your OCR probably has 25mm tyres. Replacing them with something like Conti Ultra Gator Skins in 700x23c with Conti Race 700 Tubes is a good affordable combination. 🙂
Make sure you use a good floor pump with a gauge. 🙄
