1. I am in my 7th week of Base training, most of which has been done at an Endurance Pace, though now including Tempo as well (since the past week). My Mean Maximal Power curve, as derived from CyclingPeaks shows a virtually level curve at 400W from just over 1 minute to 5 minutes when it drops dramatically before levelling off significantly around 10 minutes at my LT power.

I’m presuming this flat segment is the maximum power I am presently able to develop while at VO2 Max. I am wondering if the “leading edge” of the curve is likely to be dragged up once I start doing higher intensity training, or what indeed is going on here?

Correct. The curve is flat because you haven't been training there, and CP does not have adequate observations on peak power in that range.

  3. Thanks. The flat portion certainly looks unusual and I’m eagerly anticipating getting back into some higher intensities instead of just grinding away for hours at a time.
