They've been white-lining around here again -- it cannot be much fun in this sort of weather -- and
in particular they've been renewing the broad white line on the mandatory cycle lanes and mandatory
bus and cycle lanes. Something I had not noticed happening before is that that particular line has
been made by laying two standard width white lines next to each other with an inch or so of overlap
between them, making a nice ridge down the middle (except where someone has run over it while it was
still soft, leaving a nicely patterned ridge down the middle). Is it always like that? Does it wear
away quickly, or is this a new and exciting hazard to navigation?
(The roads of Oxford are so much more fun at six o'clock in the morning in the summer than at almost
any other time of day or year. The depths of Christmas are pretty much OK too, if it's dry.)
