Flags flew at half-staff to honor 31-year-old area Officer Landon, who was fatally hit by a car while on his bike, according to news reports.
A car heading west on Riverside struck Dorris while he was in the street, and the force of the impact caused him to hit another car whose driver was waiting to turn left onto Golden.
The driver, distraught over the incident, immediately stopped and was questioned by police officers at the scene. There was no evidence he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and he was not arrested or cited; however, the investigation is continuing.
