Took the fixie out, a rare treat, and tried some fixie tricks in the local park before a quick blast along the sea front at sarfend.
Trackstand, can do these on the galaxy but t/stands on the fixie are damn near impossible for me ATM. They are more of a dead slow wobble. Rear skids, I'm just a big kid (aren't all males) so skids are amusing. Can do at slow speeds, <=16kmh, with left leg but not at all with right? Back pedaling circles, you're 'avin' a larf! Ride it more, need a rear rack and full mud guards and then I'll take it out on club runs. In the meantime dry days only.
I did enjoy the trick cycling and I didn't fall off. Just felt a bit silly riding like a kid with a new toy in the park

I found it difficult to adapt, initially: starting to get it now. The fixie has a higher gear, so it takes a much harder push (over a shorter distance) to catch your balance. Try to get the hang of rocking the bike back as well as forward and it'll help develop the right feel.

Try dismounting over the back of the bike: one foot out, straighten other leg: bike will lift you over the saddle as it slows to walking pace. Put the loose foot down; other foot out and catch bike by saddle, continue to walk, wheeling bike by saddle. Do NOT, under any circumstances, look around to see if anyone noticed just how cool you look... :-).
