Just a quick heads up. Lidl are currently selling so-called "wind shelters" or "fishing tents" at only £6.99 each. Three colours available - green, green/yellow or yellow. Half dome shape with a large door that zips completely open. Fibreglass poles. Weight including carrying bag 1.6k. May only be available in South Wales stores.
Cheep and cheerful, I bought two. No replacement for a real tent but they are just large enough to sleep in and they're half a kilo lighter than the Argos tent and less than half the price. Might be handy for carrying on walk in bad weather so that you can set up a temporary shelter to eat your lunch in comfort. Also good for dossing on the beach next to a fire. Useful for sheltering from hot sun as well as from wind and rain.
Argos are selling a very similar "beach shelter" for £9.99. It's probably lighter but has no zip up door and the colours are [censored]. More expensive too.
I did actually buy the same thing from Hypervalue but in green. Although it has no door it weighs in at just 1.1kg so it would be a better choice if complete protection from the elements is not required.

A quick update. They aren't waterproof. As they claim they are "water resistant" but not waterproof. Myself and my brothers tested three of them last night (they were silly enough to sleep in them and got soaked). They all let in water, apparently through the seams, so a bit of seam sealing is required.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I also picked up one of those £15 Pro-Action 2-man tents yesterday? Nah, I thought not. Anyway, don't bother, they're [censored]. I couldn't put the damn thing up without help, the poles were very tight. But the main points are that there's no inner tent and it leaks. Quite a lot of water has pooled at the front of the tent. Probably okay with a bit of seam sealer, but I'd only use this tent in summer and only on campsites (main reason is to avoid giving thieves an appealing target).
