  1. I did a sprint race (1/2 mile swim, 18 mile ride, 4 mile run) in a wetsuit (a QR I borrowed from a
friend) this past weekend. Water temp was 67 ºF. I swam the course once without it as a warmup,
taking about 16 or 17 minutes using the tiny zoomer fins, but going at an easy pace. Then I put the
wetsuit on and swam it in 14:35 (I believe the course is slightly longer than 1/2 mile). What amazed
me about the wetsuit is how easy the swimming was under race conditions. For the first time, I was
not at all shy about getting in the pack and getting slapped and kicked because I had so much more
buouncy. This allowed me to take more sighting strokes and also raise my head to avoid getting
kicked, all while using much less energy.
