What would be the best Full Susp. bike for me----i do alot of trail riding, rocky, uphill (and downhill) conditions, blue ridge mountain stuff. I'm riding a Raleigh m50 right now, which has treated me well but i'm looking for an upgrade.
looking to spend up to 1600.00. I definitely need a good climber but i'm looking for something that won't rattle me to death on the way down. I've been looking at the Trek Fuel 70 and 80, any other suggestions??
i have a m50 too, but i recently bought a khs dh50 frame, that i am building. i hated the m50 untill i got a different set of wheels and a new fork. the stock wheels bent every time i landed the littlest bit sideways, and the fork had about 50mm of springy travel that would bottom out over anything over like 3 foot to flat. once i got a new fork(marzocchi with 100mm) it felt like a different bike. now my bike doesnt struggle to drop , even bigger stuff to pavement. if you havent already maybe you should get a new fork. but if you plan to just get a complete bike anyways, then dont waste your money. but if your gona build, you should buy a fork first, you may change your mind about getting a new frame(although i would still get a frame). i dont have any expirence with trek, but ive heard the fuel is a good bike.
how much rear travel are you looking for, and are you concerned about weight?
