  1. While looking for a spring marathon at the Running Times site I came
    across the following description:

    11th Wickham Park Marathon
7:30 a.m. 3.75M trail loop; flat, soft sand and bushwacking, extreme
heat and humidity, poorly marked, no aid, you may see snakes and gators.
    Finishers: 17
Contact: Matt Mahoney, 415 Rutgers Ave., Melbourne, FL 32901,
    [email hidden], www.mattmahoney.net/wickham/.

Even this may be an understatement, check out their site for the rest of
    the story.

The FAQ makes for good reading. http://www.mattmahoney.net/wickham/faq.txt

  3. How about "Crappy race, lousy splits, no water stops, salmonella pie
for after race treats". What more could you ask for?
