WOW, what a great sprint today. I think these have been the best
sprints in years in the TDF. I don't know if its cause Pettachi isnt
there, I dont think so cause Milram is not doing it.
There are teams pulling back the breaks, today Lampre, but there have
not been any real locomotives dragging their guy to the line, its been
curb to curb, sprinters with one or no leadout guys in the last 500m.
Today for example was realy man to man sprinting, not team on team.
Robbie saved Stegemans till 400 to go and POW took them to school.
What timing! Stegemans did have a hell of a kick himself, though,
[censored], he took him clear of the bunch!
That is not the same as having a train, though, today was being smart
with your leadout.
It seems like none of the top sprinters know what to do with themselves
if they are not on a train wheel with more then 150m to go! They got
stupid in the age of the radio and the sprint train! Boonen looks fast,
but useless. Everybody seems to have blown their wad at 200 to go.
Nobody knows how to pick a wheel and race against the other sprinters,
they all are used to doing their own sprint off their train. I hate
that, its a snooze.
I like Robbie, cause even though he seems to be a [censored], he is a crafty,
old time type sprinter like Sean Kelly and others. He does it his way.
Gotta love it.
That said, ok, enough with the flat stages. Let rock.
