Well, I have finally got myself a pair of decent walking boots.
First I bought a pair of "British Army" combats, the bit where the sole met the upper started
peeling after 1 week. Got a replacement pair, there must have been a bubble in the mould for the
sole as there was a bit missing on the front of the sole...
So I took this new pair back to the shop, demanded a refund (despite the shopkeeper saying there was
no fault).
Came home, phoned up Hoggs of Fife, now just back after buying a pair of Brasher Hillmaster
Classics! As soon as I tried them on in the shop I knew these were the boots for me, nice and
comfortable fit, nice lightweight boots.
The proof of the pudding will be when I actually try them out on a walk, but I'll certainly wear
them about the house to get them broken in.
cheers
