shipped a new sensor free of charge.
Installed new sensor. Works like a champ.

I had the same problem. I call up Cateye customer service, described my problem and they sent out the sensor immediately. Talk about great customer service! (FWIW, The guy I dealt with at Cateye was Jeff). 😉
