  1. My mother's gynocologist told her she has clusters of
fibroids on her right ovary. She is 58 years of age, and
does not have any pain or bleeding. She did not know that
she had fibroids until she had an ultrasound. Her doctor
suggests that she have the entire ovary removed. Is there
any other treatment instead of surgery to treat the
    fibroids? Thank you.

Fibroids? Check your facts. Talk directly to the
gynaecologist. He/she should be glad to clarify things.

Here's why. Multiple fibroids occur in the uterus (womb),
not the ovary, and if they are not causing symptoms they
don't need treatment at all.. Fibromas can occur in the
ovary, but are rare. At your mother's age there is a
significant risk that any mass on the ovary is malignant.
Also at her age there is little point in trying to save
ovarian tissue, if there is any risk at all of spreading a
    cancerous lesion.

  4. Not sure about ovaries, but you might want to look up
    specific enzymes typically Wobenzym? Anth

fibroids grow on the uterus...not the ovaries...

growths on the ovaries...esp at your mom's age...are
    suspicious...

please have her seek a second opinion...

do not fool around with alternatives for this...
