The stems are a bit too fiberous for eating but are excellent for
flavoring, especially seafood. Add the fronds of feathery leaves to
fish stocks/stews, arrange the stalks as a rack for baked fish, and dry
the stalks to place on the grill under fish and other meats, the smoke
emitted will imbue foods with great flavor... fennel smoked eyetalian
saw-seege is orgasmic, and of course they're essential for a clambake.
