  1. Both bikes feel the same. What to get. 05 felt 90 or trek 1000 and why. thanks

  2. Trek 1000... with out even looking at the specs, just cuz you'll get a better frame. Felt bikes are known to have a weak BB

  3. first of all, i ride a '03 trek1000. its been good to me as my first road bike, changed a lot of things, basically everything except for the frame and grouppo. really nothing to complain about, but moving up to a individually spec'd caad7 after christmas.

now to your delimma. your gonna get a very similar product either way. dont know about the trek being a better frame, after all it is the 1000 model which like the felt is made in TAIWAN, they're probably even made in the same factory. both companies offer lifetime warranties so thats good.

if you ask me though, i would get the trek, i think the addons being bontrager items are of a higher quality than of felts. you also get a set of clipless pedals, being wellgo pedals i'd probably trade 'em for a pair of looks/shimanos. the felts a triple whereas the treks a double, so i guess you've got to ask yourself do you live in a v.hilly area and require the extra weight/group abuse of having a granny ring?

have you thought about spending a little bit more? cause it will open more doors interms of options. but really its up to you and what you plan to use the bike for, if its for recreational riding you cant go wrong with either, but if you plan to race, i'd think of getting something a littlebit more responsive. giants are pretty good value for money, for the same price as the trek you could probably get a '04 OCR2 9spd. i'm not sure if the low end cannondales are in the same price range, but if they are, you should consider them as well. cannondale make ace aluminium frames, stiff as and v.light too. hope thats helpful

  4. The Trek 1000 was my first bike, and I enjoyed it very much until I recently bought a custom with full ultegra. I think starting out with a 1000 was a good move, and I still have the bike as a backup.

......Could you give some proof or instances of this?? I have a felt50.......Great bike..... 3,000 miles and it's good as new.....
Seems all the reviews I have read about Felt Bikes are good.....Just wondering where you get your information about the BB being weak?
