I'm a heavy guy so I think a steel bike would be better than Felt..
boom tish (kill me.. kill me now)

I once read a Bicycling review of a Felt and it seemed to do okay. Assuming you are looking at a 'normal' aluminium-framed road bike I think it is hard to
find a bad one. They are all very similar in design and construction these days
and it is more a case of getting good components and a frame that fits.

Move slightly outside the square and frame designs might start making a difference, but only at the top and bottom ends of the scale. So many manufacturers use the same factories to source their bikes and things like
carbon seatstays/chainstays are so common now, they must have got the
design right otherwise people would be breaking them... well, some people
    are, but uh.. nothing ๐Ÿ™‚

As Public Enemy said... "Don't believe the hype!". Just go for a ride and see
what it's like. The more bikes you test ride the better the idea you'll have of
    what you like.
THEN you will know if the FELT is a good bike - YOU will like it ๐Ÿ™‚

    hippy

    Um.. not heard that.

They could come from the same factory - people often make those kind of assumptions.

The brand GT did actually come back to life. I think the original company went
down and another mob bought the rights to the "GT" name. They brought out
a range of bikes a couple of years ago but I've not really heard anyone
mention them. I saw another guy on an older GT mtb yesterday.. but I think
    his still had gears ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I recently bought a Felt SR81, Excellent service, good value, excelent bike, precice handling.

My only change was the seat, to a Selle Gelflow.

    cheers
    George
