  1. Well, I bought a new scale, a digital one instead of the
eyeballing of hatch-marks. My Taylor scale is so pitiful
that I wonder why they bother to even make them for they are
horribly inaccurate. Taylor reads 129lbs but my new Royal
digital scale reads 135lbs. It even gives it in kilograms.

I feel good with my weight at 135 lbs and have decided to
keep it around 130 to 135lbs or approx 61kg. I can remember
61kg for it is a prime number and it was 61 kg where my
weight was at during the 1990s. I did a lot more running in
the 1990s than now. Now I mostly work on trees, plantings
and mowing and building projects which involve lifting
    rather than running.

I decided also to resume eating icecream and pastries. Only
instead of unlimited eating of these I decided to have just
one piece per day and to limit the amount to about 150
calories. Because many fruit juices are 150 calories per
glass and a typical icecream bar is 200-300 calories. Thus I
cut in half a ice cream bar and that is my daily limit if I
eat an icecream. RiceDream makes a icecream without milk and
is rice and very good but I have to cut it in half so it is
    about 150 calories.

I resume eating desserts, only I find out their calories and
divide it into pieces where I never get more than 150
    calories per dessert.

Another thing is that the bulk of my eating rests around
puffed cereals such as Kaishi puffed or Quaker puffed rice
and wheat which is only 90 calories per serving and I use
Carnation instant dry nonfat milk powder. But I have found
Silk which is a soybean drink that looks and tastes somewhat
like milk. So I blend into a bowl some Carnation and Silk to
give the liquid more of a rich taste.

I find that to maintain dieting means never buying a lot at
the store. Because it is defeating to buy alot of good food
for the temptation is only a refrigerator away. I used to
have a freezer also, but my dieting has caused me to unplug
the freezer. The less tempting of food I have around me, the
more faithful I can be to the diet program.

Yes it is a historical phenomenon that when a society faces
a problem that they usually deny it exists. Global Warming
is denied by USA politicians simply because they rather
pollute than to solve the problem. Obesity of USA society is
such a huge problem that the politicians have yet not given
the truth of the situation, and the truth being that USA
must Fast on a regular basis. Have the entire USA population
    observe Fasting days.

For example, with my new digital weight scale that
measures in fractions of pounds and/or kilograms that I
can more precisely find out how many pounds I can lose
given a day of complete Fasting combined with heavy
exercise. With my lousy Taylor scale I said it was 3lbs
but I think that was erroneous. With this Royal digital
scale I can find out whether 3lbs is an accurate day loss
of weight when combining Fasting with exercise. So today
of 22April I am completely Fasting and will weigh myself
today and tomorrow at about this same time. I suspect that
2 lbs is the more likely weight loss given Fasting +
Exercise in a 24 hour period.

Soc.history because societies tend to deny the truth when a
problem arises such as Global Warming and now Obesity.
Soc.history because instead of Tommy Thompson addressing
the nation without ever recommending Fasting for the whole
of the USA and saying that all those other diet programs
are a fallacy such as the stupid and silly Atkins or South-
Beach or Pritikin or hundreds of other fake diets. Fasting
is the only diet that works and if a person is unable to
fast then his/her only other solution is a gut-surgery-
operation. With Atkins or SouthBeach, you are simply
    throwing money out the window.

I need to create a new file in my website of
www.iw.net/~a_plutonium in the sci.med region for Dieting.

One of the things I need to explore about dieting is whether
it is better to have a day of fasting and the next day to
have a day of one big meal that is about 1,000 calories. For
example I bought some icecream and turnovers recently with
the idea that I will cut them in half portions and allowed
only 150 calories per day of either icecream or a half a
turnover. Instead of making a meal out of icecream or
turnover, to have a small bite of those things, sort of like
a tasting of them rather than a meal of them.

But I wonder if a better pattern is that one day of Fasting
followed by the next day of a large meal that is approx
1,000 calories of the food that you have most on your mind.
Say for example that on todays fasting I think about cherry
turnovers mostly and that after my fast, tomorrow I eat 4
cherry turnovers which is about 1,000 calories in all and
that is all I eat for tomorrow, then I fast another day and
think about spaghetti all day long and the next day I eat a
nice big dinner of spaghetti of about 1,000 calories. If I
can follow such a pattern, I should be able to lose alot of
weight and keep the weight off.

So, soc.history because it is the historical pattern that a
society denies the problem once faced with the problem in
large degree. Tommy Thompson should be talking about Fasting
for all of USA society. He should have said that all diet
programs except Fasting are a waste of time and money. And
he should say that most Americans should regularly Fast. The
dept of Health should be praising Fasting and show Americans
that FAsting is normal and is good for your health. In fact
Mr. Thompson is probably weighing more than 140 lbs and that
his proper weight for the best heart is 140lbs and Mr.
Thompson should be Fasting on a regular basis. Mr. Thompson
is probably obese himself in terms of the true reckoning of
    the obesity problem.
