The link below is a blog I stumbled upon while looking for info on Dutch/Amsterdam bikes. It is an American's report of the differences he noticed, when touring there, between bicyclists in our 2 countries, complete with pictures to illustrate his points, such as the facts that they dress formally on bikes, NEVER wear helmets, use bike locks worth far more than their bikes, often have multiple riders on a bike, etc. I found it utterly fascinating -- and now I want to go to Amsterdam, lol.
