twilight comes early.
for the rear rack, i put two yellow nashbar blinkies facing to the side
of the "big" cateye facing rearwards on a steel joist hanger strap.
the 300 cateye headlamp on the bar is opposite one yellow blinkie
the blinkie idea arose from the question- "what is that one white
light?" passing thru the approaching SUV's neurons-in the best of
situations.
the blinkie addition then differentiating the one white
(blueish)headlamp from yonder porch bulb
or from no response at all to one white (blueish)light-the most
probable reaction.
the blinkies give perspective to the....
oh expletive deleted. the blinkies are 1/20th the size of auto's side
mounted "running lights"
so the SUV nuerons relay THAT message-THAT the funny lights on the
funny car are 5 or 6 times more distant than where you are.
this is not good.
ID as a cycle is the only recourse.
there's a need for durable pedal and spoke mounted lights.
oh yeah- does the mount fit the bar? mine don't.
cardboard of required thickness taped to the bar with stretched on
electrical tape gives a perfect shim.
