It's been quite a while since I was faced with the temptation of a
table-full of free food. We had our end of summer staff cookout party
at the YMCA today, and it's ironic that an organization focussed on
health would provide so many chips, cakes, and cookies, and not even
have the option of diet soda.
I've always had a weakness for free food, but I must say I'm proud of
myself. I had a hamburger, (no bun) a hotdog with mustard, (no bun) and
about a half cup of asparagus and cucumber salad, water to drink.
I even checked with the guy who made the salad to see how he made it
before I ate some. It had asparagus, onions, tomatoes, and cucumber
with vinegar for the dressing. Now, I know vinegar can be high in
carbs, but he said he only used about 2 tablespoons for the whole big
bowl of it, so that's only about 2g carbs for enough to feed like, 20
people.
