  1. I have found that certain "experts" who post or moderate on various forums to be extremely condescending and sharp in some of their responses.

It certainly does not encourage one to question a position or statement if the response is from someone who is clearly trying to show their superior knowledge - ussually by shooting down whatever alternative position that is being taken.

As far as I am concerned one of the reasons I subscribe and participate in these forums is because I know that there are guys out there with a high level of knowledge. I would like to think that when these guys are challenged or questioned, that they would calmly and patiently explain why they hold a certain view. Unfortunately what I have seen and experienced is nothing but one upmanship and nit picking. Last post wins sort of thing.

I just think it's a shame to waste all that knowledge by creating an atmosphere where nobody wants to question when a well phrased and patient sounding response is much more credible.

Hope I´m not too guilty of this but we all have hobbyhorses that we tend to ride now and then but I do agree that some replies are more hostile than informative , this is about sport after all and sport should not only be about winning but also about having fun .
