I have been wondering about trailers for bikes. I have seen them in use and they look handy for a long ride or a few days out. And I have also seen offroad trailers in the magazines lately. I was wondering how they work verses panniers. I thought you could take the trailer off and do some touring, come back to camp and take off with the trailer. Is it better balanced? what are the advantage/disadvantages?

I have been wondering about trailers for bikes.I've had success with a BoB but not much off road. Easy to pack & carry large or long items. Handles pretty well. The load is carried lower & behind the bike. Less wind & maybe bush resistance than panniers. Can be a pain lifting over obsticales & onto trains etc.
