Ever get burned on ebay and did ebay help you?

Haven't gotten burned yet, but do have some trouble (especially from some German shops that sell a lot through e-bay) in having them provide me with feedback (even after I have paid and provided them with positive feedback). 😠

Yes, I have had trouble, no they weren't of much help. You're pretty much on your own, so proceed accordingly.

As for the FlightDeck going wonky on you... check the settings for wheel size. If just the speed is off, the computer probably has the wrong wheel size, or may have been reset. You can't really hold ebay or even the buyer responsible for used equipment that doesn't hold up after two months. If you expect a warranty, buy it new.

For the most part, common sense will keep you out of trouble on ebay. If you're buying video games and the seller isn't a retailer, you're probably getting them from a kid, and that is often trouble. Check the seller's feedback, look at what they've bought and sold. If they don't do a lot of cycling related business, you may not want to buy from them. Just remember, there's no absolute guarantee on an ebay purchase, and if it goes sour, there isn't a great deal you can do about it. Never forget what you're doing - sending money to a total stranger and hoping they will do the right thing.

I bought a set of Zipp 404's in tubie about a year and a half ago on ebay, for the bargain price of $650, and that included four used tires. I pretty much rode those wheels all of last year, just couldn't take them off the bike.

Yes i purchased a hard drive for my laptop that was garbage. After the purchase eBay said the seller was no longer a member.

That happened to my brother, on a computer purchase, the paytpal money disappeared, transferred back and put on 'hold" but they never took it off 'hold" or responded to emails beyond a standard letter saying the buyer was an unconfirmed address, so they didnt have to do anything
