we have sheets of 8x11 laminated digits
as a flip chart on a self supporting stand made with PVC piping

I mistyped - it's a mop handle! The PVC piping sounds good, definitely
a step up.

Are the digits are laser-printed on heavy card stock and laminated?

yeah - 8x11 with full page per digit - our events are from #1 --> #78
then punched 2 holes in top of each page,
and put them all on a ring clip, which goes over the PVC -
The stand has a base of maybe 4x3 flat and 4' tall -
with 2 poles coming up from the sides,
to a bar across the top holding the flip pages & rings,
with a diag pole going to the bottom/back for bracing.
