All our sympathies... The cycling world on Friday extended its compassion to Italian cyclist Ivan Basso, who lost his mother to cancer. Nives Basso, 49, succumbed Thursday morning at her home in Cassano Magnago, Italy after a nine-month struggle with the disease.
