Ergobrain installation problems

    Just bought the Campagnolo Ergobrain (2003 version... black). Installation went smoothly... however
    the buttons on the levers (mode and s/s) seem to be very intermittent. When shifting, the gear
    display works fine, and when I take the controller out of the lever and push the tiny mode and s/s
    buttons the display works as well. Problem is when I mount the controller in the lever and insert
    the small plastic (sx & dx) buttons. Seems that the buttons are not adequately pushing on the small
    switches on the controller. Has anyone else seen this problem and have a fix?

    One other piece of information... The buttons operate when out of the lever and in the lever when
    off of the handlebar. When I tighten the Ergolever bolt to secure to the handlebar the switch stops
    working at a certain pressure. Seems like something is being pinched somewhere and I'm not sure if
    the problem is with the Ergobrain or Ergolever... I could sand some areas down to relieve the
    pressure spot, but am concerned that I may knock something out of alignment. Any suggestions as to
    where to look would be appreciated!

    Yellow plastic insert mounted, the thing that goes around the clamp, between the body and the hbar??

    Answer to all questions is yes. Checked and re-checked installation vs directions. Left button works
    fine, right does not.
