I'm after an entry level road bike, and I have found 2 bikes that are either new or near new being sold by private sellers. The problem is, that the sellers have not specified the particular sub-model so I'm unsure what exactly I'm going to be bidding on. One of them is a Jamis Ventura, the other is a Giant Defy. All prices are in $NZD.
The Jamis bike which is $NZ499 is approximately $US412, and the Giant which is $NZ799 is approximately $US660. I'm just over 6' in height and weigh around 70kg. If the size is wrong, I can always get my money back by selling provided that I got a good deal to begin with. I don't want to put pressure on anyone, but I would like advice as quickly as possible so I don't miss out if either of them turns out to be an exceptionally good deal.
So I clicked "Buy Now" on the Giant bike, before someone else did as there was quite a bit of interest on that auction. I hope I made the right choice. If not, I should easily be able to get my money back if I choose to sell it.
