Start from lubricating the chain. There are dozens of possible places the
squeek may come from, so start with lubricating the most obvious one.

That's exactly the way it should be, so you better leave it the way it is.
If 3-speed drags on pedals so that they move while you walk the bike, either
your chain is tensioned too much or your left hand cone is too tight.

Perhaps nothing, just put some motor oil into the hub (a couple of drops)
and enjoy the ride.

Any chain lubricant will do. If you don't have one, scarcely used motor oil
(or chai saw oil) could do the job. Virtually, any machine oil is good
enough, providing you don't ride hundreds of miles a week. Imrortant is not
to do a mess spreading oil all over a bike.

Any will do, but the thicker the better.
