HI im a year 12 student needing your help. I have assignment on cycling and the energy systems. Can someone help me out and explain when does a cyclist used the 3 different energy system. I realise that ATP-PC (Alactacid) is used for a high intensity for a short duration of about approx. 10sec, and that Lactic System is used for a high intensity and a relativily short duration of 2-3 minutes, and that Aerobic System is used for a low intensity for a long duration. But for a road racing cyclist during your course when does which energy system kick into place. I was provided with an example that the sprint to the end would be an example of ATP-PC system but i need more examples and on each sytems. Thank you very much.
