I'll be in Elko, NV next Friday evening and would love to get in 20-30
miles. Can anybody suggest a route for me?
I'll be on my way to Taho for the ride there on Sunday. Anybody going
to be there?
Thanks,
Joe

Head southeast out of town on NV227 (Lamoille Hwy), then follow signs to
Lamoille, then Canyon Rd. This takes you up Lamoille Canyon into the
Ruby Mountains. The road ends at a trailhead. If you have the time
it's worth hiking up to Liberty Pass and back, about 7 miles round-trip.
It's a slice of the Sierras in the middle of Nevada.

Thanks Bill,
I mapped out 15 miles one way and it's about 850 feet of climbing.
Just about perfect for what we want to do. I'll post the ride after we
get back.
Thanks,
Joe

As promised - my wife and I rode the Lamoille Hwy last weekend. It was
a nice warm-up for our Tahoe ride. I've posted the track, elevation
profile, directions and comments at:

Thanks for the suggestion,
Joe
